What Are Wet Dreams?A wet dream can be referred to as ejaculating in ones sleep. Ejaculation refers to the release of semen from the penis. In normal cases, this comes about when a man dreams about having sex and is in the mood and aroused, even though they may not remember much about the dream when they wake up. In a wet dream, there is no touch of the penis that causes the stimulation of orgasm and thus semen coming out. This all occurs in the brain and differs from masturbation where touch is involved to cause ejaculation. It is also important to recognize that a wet dream may occur with or without an erection.

The wet dreams are referred by some as spontaneous emissions because they occur without the conscious control. In most cases, long periods of sexual abstinence contribute to wet dreams. Wet dreams are also common in young pubertal men who may not have started to engage in sex. After their onset during teen years, they are common throughout life.

Causes of Wet DreamsIn most cases, there are no clearly identified causes of wet dreams. However, there has been a high association shown by research between long periods of sexual inactivity and the occurrence of wet dreams. Studies performed have suggested the reason to his correlation could be due to the high levels of testosterone that s present in males during periods of sexual inactivity.

Another cause of wet dreams especially to young pubertal males has been attributed to be the start of testosterone production in males. Testosterone production is associated with sperm production in many males. It is due to testosterone production that sexual urges can be felt between men and women and erections can be got at various times of the day.

Wet dreams will vary from person to person as their sexual frequency varies and so does the testosterone production. It is important to appreciate that wet dreams are a normal part of growing up. Some people will have more frequent wet dreams than others. This does not mean that there is anything wrong with them. If anything, such people are quite healthy in their sexual lives as they get to release testosterone when they ejaculate in their wet dreams.

As indicated above, they are normal and may help in normal body function as they regulate the release of testosterone within the body. These are as a result of having tested. Men without testes do not have the ability to have wet dreams. Not all people have wet dreams and for those who have, there instances are varied. Even if you may not have experienced them, there is nothing wrong with you. Remember, everybody?s body is unique to themselves.

It is highly recommended that you wash your penis and testes with soap and water as well as any other area that might have been laden with the semen. If you are an uncircumcised man, it is highly advisable that you clean the foreskin as well. If possible, a bath would help you with cleaning up as well.
