I think we all know the answer.

As someone who has had experience in being cheated on and has saw countless of her friends gone through the same thing, my mind wondered to the question: ?Are men or women more likely to cheat??
I recently got in touch with a very handy and interesting website that can provide a private investigation on husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, significant other, etc., called Buzz Humble
According to the founder of the company, they have received over 4,472 reports from women inquiring about men on Buzz Humble, while only 3,850 reports of men inquiring about women.
Now, does this ultimately mean that we have found the answer to the question: ?Do guys or girls cheat more??
Of course not. There are a lot of factors that should be taken into account especially when dealing with matters close to the hearts of many. The numbers stated above are just statistics that might help us weigh both sides of the spectrum.
Back to the debacle:
Are men or women more likely to cheat?
Society had been portraying men as the gender that is likely to cheat, we have seen this in movies, books, or even with just the pressures constantly being thrown on men.
Trend data going back to the 1990s suggests that men have always been more likely to cheat than women.
The world is rapidly changing with the advancement of technologies, the birth of more and more social/cultural organizations, and just our overall societal structure being remade.
Now, women are also being portrayed the same as men in films, television, and books, which are very different from the previous decades where we were most likely being saved by men or portrayed as the weaker sex.
Remember Cersei from Game of Thrones, anyone? What about Captain Marvel? Empowerment of women are going stronger everyday, and I?m all for it.
Another research about couples cheating on each other was done by the Institute for Family Studies (IFS). The study was conducted in 2018, siting the demographics of infidelity in the whole United States.
According to the data gathered by the IFS from the General Social Survey (GSS), generally speaking, men are more likely to cheat than women.
In their statistical survey last 2018, the percentage of men and women who cheat are 20% men and 13% women, all of which had reported that they?ve had sex with someone else other than their spouse while in the sanctity of marriage.

Looking at the figure above done by the IFS, age is a factor playing into the percentage gap of the two genders.
On married couples ages 18 to 19, it states that, although a slight gap, women cheat more than men (11% vs. 10%).
But this gap quickly reverses among the ages of 30 to 34 and grows wider in older age groups. Infidelity for both men and women increases during the middle ages.
From what we have gathered, there is one absolute fact that we can state: both genders are prone to infidelity.
Although there were key points that press one gender more than the other, we can never actually tell if women cheat more than men do or vice versa.
I have one thing I want to leave behind after you?ve read this though: It?s not the gender, it?s the person. Trust takes forever to build, and the emotional trauma that comes with being cheated on is something no one should bear.
