This Is the Leaked Plot of ‘Avengers: Endgame’

(Spoilers follow. Thus, please stop reading if you don?t want to probably be spoiled regarding the plot of ?Avengers: Endgame.?) The plot of the most anticipated film in history given that it is the new record-holder for advance ticket sales has reportedly been leaked by someone who has seen the movie. The film ends in a way many have considered surprising. While other plot points may come as a surprise, the fate of two main characters may dominate what the many filmgoers think about when leaving the theater.

?Endgame? owner Disney, in an unusual move, withheld an advance showing from journalists and critics, is the conclusion of an 11-year, 22-film series. (Truly, spoilers follow ? apparent leaks found in this article have been reported in reputable media outlets and the apparent leaker reportedly ?provided some very specific details and quotes when asked.?)

A user on reddit, designated here as SBT, apparently leaked the plot ? including the post-credits scene ? on the social network after seeing the completed work. The leak was compiled by u/stankindustries. (On one of perhaps the two biggest reveals, u/stankindustries writes: ?Man, you guys are coming close to ruining the most emotional part of the movie. Are you sure this is how you want to learn this? ? If you have any self-control I urge you not to read this as it was a pretty special scene.?)

Perhaps the biggest revelations regard the relationship between the two main protagonists of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (the film series).

Those characters are Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) and Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans).

Stark, in a mark of the immature character having changed, pays the ultimate sacrifice. Commenting on that, u/stankindustries says ?Tony gets a really good goodbye scene.?

u/stankindustries also writes ?Tony dies for real at the end.? Folks have speculated in the past about Stark dying or not.

The film series, unprecedented in the number of films and how they connect with each other, began with Stark?s story. That includes his relationship with Pepper Potts, in whose arms Stark dies, u/stankindustries says.

Rogers returns to the past from when he came, as he is revealed to be the beloved husband of Peggy Carter. (That would be within the first three or four decades after World War II, the time period of which ?Captain America? is set.)

?It?s one of the most touching, mind-blowing moments in the entire MCU,? u/stankindustries writes. ?Kind of interesting you never saw her husband, right?? (u/stankindustries was referencing ?Captain America: The First Avenger,? another film in the MCU.)

Other redditors were upset with how Rogers? story concludes ? ?this is bothering so many people,? u/stankindustries writes. They say, in an apparent change of opinion themselves, ?When you guys actually see how they handle the Cap thing I think you?ll change your mind.?

?He?s not ruining everyone?s life; he?s closing a time loop,? u/stankindustries writes.

u/stankindustries says that Rogers will still be found on ice (in ?Captain America), ?still go through everything he goes through,? and then will go back in time and be with Peggy as seen in ?Endgame.?

?They leave the door open for him to travel to the future if he?s needed after the events of ?Endgame,? too,? u/stankindustries adds.

The redditor said they also just regurgitated what SBT, the leaker, remarked about the Rogers ending.

?The way it is shot, the music, the way they both aren?t even sure what?s happening is real ? it?s so beautiful,? SBT reportedly says. ?I was crying like a baby and I don?t cry at movies. If you guys hate this movie just because of that ? damn.?

SBT also said the scene is ? legitimately my favorite scene in the MCU ever, and Evans is so good in the scene you can literally see the burden of the world he?s always carried roll off his shoulders.?

An end-credits scene is ?a tribute to everyone who made the MCU what it is today,? u/Brontcrab reports SBT telling them, according to u/stankindustries.

In a now-deleted comment, SBT says ?I really didn?t want to answer this because I thought it was amazing and didn?t want it being spoiled. There aren?t post-credit scenes like normal; there is a montage of the last 10 years of Marvel studios and everyone who made it possible to be what it is today.?

?It?s pretty special,? the redditor adds, u/stankindustries reports.

Other plot points, as u/stankindustries reports

  • Stan Lee?s run of cameos in MCU films continued.
  • Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), in ?Captain Marvel,? was in the MCU film immediately preceding ?Endgame,? but is not found in most of the culminating film.
  • Danvers is at its start to answer the remaining Avengers? distress call after Thanos? action. With her help, they kill Thanos, and then she leaves to help restore other planets. ?(She) doesn?t show back up ?til the final battle, where she wrecks shit,? u/stankindustries writes.
  • Nebula (Karen Gillan) has not been with the Avengers for most films, including the Avengers films, but is in the final war.

  • Thor (Chris Hemsworth) lives. A possible ?Thor 4? is set up.
  • Potts helps the Avengers in the final battle, in Stark?s rescue armor.
  • Past and present Rogers fight each other.
  • Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) dies.
  • Thor?s mother encourages him.
  • The Hulk (as a person, Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo) is ?maturing,? u/stankindustries writes.
