No! Absinthe isn?t even on the list!
Most of the drinks the typical ?tough guys? drink are most probably within the 10?27% ABV limit (Alcohol By Volume). Indian government rules put a limit on the ABV at 42.8%.
However, there are some drinks in some dark corners of the world that are twice that strong! (Sometimes even more!) Many of them are illegal because they can kill more people than the plague!
Take a look at the strongest drinks in the world that can knock you out? Hard!
5. Balkan 176 (88% ABV)
From the badlands of Bulgaria, this triple distilled Vodka is among the top 5 most potent drinks in the world for a reason. It is responsible for several deaths in Russia and eastern Europe and carries 13 health warnings on the label. Don?t ever drink this neat to show off, you won?t live to tell the tale.
4. Pincer Shanghai Strength Vodka (88.8% ABV)
It is not Chinese but Scottish. If you thought the scots could only make scotch, you are mistaken. Pincer Vodka is an extremely strong herbal vodka made from elderflower and milk thistle, a chinese medicine for liver support (believe it or not!) It is NOT a health drink!
3. Bruichladdich X4+1 Quadrupled Whisky (92% ABV)
If you can?t pronounce it, doesn?t matter. Just know that it translates to ?Perilous? in Gaelic. There is a native saying that goes ?One sip and you live forever, two sips and you go blind, three sips and you expire on the spot?. We suggest you stop with one sip.
2. Everclear (95% alcohol)
This Vodka made it to the Guinness book of world records in 1979 for the ?Most alcoholic drink in the world?, so it is not something to be trifled with. It has 285 calories in a single shot and though it is made from corn, it packs a punch that can knock you out probably forever!
It is so strong that it is banned in 14 states in the U.S.A and is sometimes used as cleaning fluid!? Yes you read that right!
- Spirytus Rektyfikowany (96% alcohol)
This Polish vodka shouldn?t exist.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen. We put this information together because we thought it makes for an interesting bar conversation. Please don?t take this as a challenge! Drink responsibly!
Cheers!
