Demographics consist of ideas like age and race, while psychographics deal with values, beliefs and interests. Behavioral consists of purchasing and spending habits, while geographic focuses on neighborhood, city or country.

This console has two unique selling points that differs from the rest of the market (video game consoles). First, this is the first console that you can play at home and on the go. Nintendo?s product is literally designed to fit your life, as they state on their website. With the Switch you to play with the console as a handheld device, but if you want to play at home with family and friends you can do that too! Consoles like the Xbox One and Playstation 4 do not have such capabilities, which makes the Nintendo Switch unique. The other selling point is that Nintendo sells console specific games. Yes, they sell other games, but according to their website, ?The Nintendo Switch family is home to exclusive games from franchises like Super Smash Bros.?, The Legend of Zelda?, Mario Kart?, and many more.? This makes them unique because if you wanted to play any of these games, the Switch is the only place to do that.

Nintendo?s target market is fairly straightforward. They are targeting people who are between the ages of 15?30 and are interested in playing video games at home and on the go. This group would consist of men, women, families and really anyone who wants to play video games. The Nintendo Switch starting price is $299, so it will be important to make sure we target parents and people who can afford the product. With Nintendo being a prominent video game company since the 1980s, they have a loyal target audience who have potentially been playing video games like Super Mario Bros. for over 30 years. With that said, I believe the best way to market to this group of people would be through content marketing, advertisements, and event marketing. Nintendo has a strong social media following, with 5.7M Instagram followers and 10.2M on Twitter for their US account (not counting many other social accounts for other countries like Japan, UK, and France). It will be important to spread content and share with our followers new games and products on the Switch. Furthermore, TV and digital advertisements are another great way to reach our audience. By airing commercials showcasing the Switch or photos of the product on social media is another great way to reach our audience. Finally, a great way to market your product is by attending events and showcasing new products. Nintendo usually attends the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 and shares new information about upcoming games or products.

Target marketing is one of the most important aspects of a company. It is where you develop your audience, understand what your company is providing them, and hopefully leading to more sales for the company. Nintendo has a great product in the Nintendo Switch and they have a strong audience to market to.
