Have you ever found yourself at the end of your work shift, counting those final tocks, wishing for them to come faster? If yes, then it is time you explore what other opportunities are out there.

Change can feel scary, and by staying where you are, you feel safe. But if you think about it, if people in the world all played it safe, then we wouldn?t have gone to the moon. Also we wouldn?t have invented planes, as such a change would scare us. However, people were brave, they were bold, they were passionate, and they achieved dreams that made their hearts sing.

You don?t have to go to the moon but you should chase after your dreams. Only when we are out of our comfort zone do we truly grow. We want you to grow into the best version of yourself. Imagine waking up in the morning and wanting to jump out of bed, just so you could get to the job you loved faster! Doesn?t that sound like something worth hunting for?

Private Island Caretaker

When I saw this job title I jumped up and down like a bouncy ball! Next I felt a sense of calm and tranquility. The adventurer inside of me was excited about exploring a desert island and the philosopher inside of me appreciated the beauty and stillness I could get from being a private island caretaker.

How would you feel about having a job like this?

In 2009 Tourism Queensland advertised for a person willing to walk white sandy beaches, sit under palm trees and swim with turtles as they soak up the sun on an island on the barrier reef.

The successful candidate would be asked to keep a blog and photo diary in exchange for six months rent-free on Hamilton Island as part of a $150,000/70,000 salary package that includes return airfares and travel insurance.

Australians and overseas applicants had to be willing to ?swim, snorkel, make friends with locals and generally enjoy the tropical Queensland climate and lifestyle?.

The ?island caretaker? position was created as part of a three-year $1.7 million marketing strategy by Tourism Queensland.

Mitchell from Canada talk auditioning for this job to another level. He got by with a little help from his friends.

However, as much as we enjoyed the creativity and spirit of Mitchell?s video it was Ben Southall who became the lucky winner!

Ben Southall, now 37, from Petersfield, Hampshire, beat nearly 35,000 applicants for the dream position.

The job included free accommodation in a three-bedroom home on Hamilton Island complete with plunge pool, views of the Whitsunday Islands and golf buggy.
