The most important German numbers for you to learn are the numbers 1 to 12. With those numbers, you can get by in most situations and more or less tell the time.

So, let?s get on with it?
Firstly, there?s zero, which is ?null?. And now, here are the numbers 1 to 12 in German:

You can use these numbers with this phrase:

You can get to grips with the numbers one to twelve by repeating them to yourself over and over. The more you count to yourself out loud, the more familiar you?ll become.
Now let?s move onto bigger numbers. Here are the numbers 13 to 20 in German:

The first twenty numbers are the trickiest to learn, I think, because once you know one to nine, they are simply repeated over and over for most of the tens.
The only difference in German is that the numbers are back to front compared to English. Instead of saying twenty-one, you say ?one and twenty? or instead of saying forty-nine, you would say ?nine and forty?. So, here are the numbers 21?70:

You might notice that the numbers ein, zwei, drei, vier, fnf, sechs, sieben, acht and neun are repeated over and over. The only thing that changes are the tens. So, all you have to learn is zwanzig, dreiig, vierzig, fnfzig and sechzig.
You might have also noticed that the tens all end in -zig (except for dreiig), and they all more or less start with the numbers one to six. Well, it?s the same for the rest of the tens, too. So, let?s carry on.
70, 80 & 90
We?ve already had the word for ?seventy?, which was ?siebzig?. So, you just start again with ein, zwei, drei?
