Some forms of data entry do require you to have training or certification like in medical coding etc. Data entry is a very tedious task that requires you to stay focused over long periods of time.

Materials needed: You will need a personal computer or desktop that has access to high-speed internet. You will also need a keyboard and in some cases a number pad. You may also need several programs like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Ect.

How much will I get paid: Data entry jobs typically do not pay well because they require no experience. The downside to this is that it is very competitive to get one of these jobs due to so many people applying for them.

If you are a fast and accurate typer who can accurately listen to voices that could have an accent or background noise this job is for you! This is not an industry that tolerates mistakes.

Materials needed: You will need a personal computer or desktop that has access to high-speed internet. You will also need quality headphones to listen to audio files.

How much will I get paid: An entry-level transcriptionist just like any entry position does not pay well. However, with experience you can gain better rates. You can also increase pay by getting jobs done quickly.

3. Captioning

Captioning is just like transcribing except you are writing captions for videos. This is for the hearing impaired or people that want to watch a video with the sound off. Captioning can be a little bit more difficult then transcribing because there is background noise in the audio. There are two types of captions, closed and real-time. Closed captioning jobs tend to be pre-recorded videos. These videos can be from T.V shows to professor lectures. Real-time captioning is for a live program such as sports or news broadcasts. Real-time captioning is a more demanding job and some require you to have certifications.

Materials needed: You will need a personal computer or desktop that has access to high-speed internet. You will also need quality headphones to listen to the audio.

How much will I get paid: This is a specialized form of transcribing so you can make more. You can even possibly make a full-time wage with the right amount of experience.
