You?ve got hair extensions on your mind.
But you also have short hair.
And you want to make sure that this whole short hair to long hair transformation is actually going to look real ? and not like an 80?s mullet.
The good news:
You can enjoy short hair and long hair whenever you want.
A ?have your cake and eat it too? type of scenario.
I?m going to show you three easy tips to blend hair extensions with your own short hair.
How to make hair extensions look real in short hair
For this I?m going to be showing you tips on how to hide short hair with our Sitting Pretty Halo extensions, but these tips work with other types of extensions too.
Remember:
Before you try any of the below tips, the very first thing you need to do is make sure your extensions have been cut and styled to suit your hair.
For short hair, we recommend taking your hair extensions to your hairdresser and layering your extensions with different lengths for a more seamless blend.

Step 1: Try this secret trick to hide short hair under extensions
Hair extensions blend more easily in thin hair.
Particularly if you want extensions for more length, it?s important to make sure your short hair blends properly.
If you?ve got short hair, it?s likely that your hair is somewhat blunt at the ends.
This is a cheeky little trick to temporarily thinning out your hair without cutting it, so your hair can blend with your hair extensions.
What to do:
1. Section your hair so that most of your hair is clipped or tied on top of your head.
Leaving about a 1/4 of your hair down.
You might need to leave more or less hair down, depending on how much hair you have.
2. Grab the hair that will sit under your extensions, and tie it in a little ponytail. You can also do a flat bun, or even braid the hair and pin it to your head if you?ve got a lot of hair to hide.
3. Let the rest of your hair down on top and apply your extensions as normal.

Note: This first tip is a great option if you?ve got short hair, and you want long hair for a special event or occasion. If you?re looking for halo extensions to wear everyday, chat to us first and we?ll help you find a solution that?s a little more low-maintenance.
Step 2: Blending your extensions; from mullet to mermaid hair
No, the mullet will not be staging a comeback in operation ?long hair?.
To make sure this doesn?t happen, leave less hair on top of your extensions.
Doing this will ensure there?s no noticeable disconnect between your long extensions and your short hair.
You might be wondering:
?But I need a lot of hair on top to cover my extensions?
Our Sitting Pretty Halo sits low at the back of your head, out of sight.
So you can get away with leaving less hair on top, and not worry about wind blowing and exposing any clips or tapes.
Step 3: How to make short layers invisible
This is the final touch to blending your hair extensions to look as real as your own hair.
Once your halo hair extensions are in:
Look around for any sections of your short hair that are noticeably sticking out from beneath your halo.
You?ll usually find these culprits around your face.
You can then pin this little bits of hair to your head under your extensions, hiding them from the front.

Bonus tip: How to style extensions to look real in short hair
Your extensions are in.
Now it?s time for the icing on the cake.
The best way to style hair extensions to look as natural as possible, is with curls or waves.
Curling your real hair together with your hair extensions adds texture.
The best part?
You won?t be able to see any short layers sticking out.
Adding textured waves is perfect for styling short or layered hair with the halo.

HOW TO BLEND HALO HAIR EXTENSIONS WITH SHORT HAIR // AMELIA WEBB

Hi guys, I?m Amelia Webb and welcome to this tutorial with Sitting Pretty.
So as you can see I have a very blunt haircut, so I am going to give you a tutorial on the best way to apply the halo hair extensions when you have a really short blunt haircut like I do.
I am one of those people that is super indecisive with how I want to wear my hair. I?m constantly changing it and the Sitting Pretty Halo extension is honestly so easy to use.
So I?m gonna give you a quick and easy tutorial on how to apply it and if you have a haircut like mine and if you?ve got quite a blunt cut, I?ll give you a few little tips and tricks on what I do.
Okay so step one is to pull your hair so it will be half up, half down. I quickly just grab a little clip to pin this top bit up, while I do this.
So I pin all of this bottom bit up underneath my hair. I?m actually gonna pull it into like a little bun, you can also put it into a little ponytail, and then I just clip this with some bobby pins. So this is just going to hold it all in place. The reason I do this is because my hair is so short and so bunt. I want it to blend, so by pulling this bit up underneath it is going to help all of the rest of the hair blend.
I?m then going to pull that down, I?m going to get my Sitting Pretty Halo and I?m going to add that on now. So all we do is we go around the back and we just place it on as you can see it like this, and then we just gently push it down, so where it feels comfortable, and that feels really comfortable for me.
Once you have that on, I am then going to get the comb. I find that this comb is the perfect comb to pull out these pieces. So when we get here we just pull out my hair and blend it over the top and then we just go around the back and we pull that out. Don?t pull out too much when you?ve got short hair because you don?t want it to look like a mullet.
So we?ve got most of my hair underneath the extension and then we just want to fill this on the top just so it all blends really nicely. Once that feels comfortable and all the hair is out, we?re then going to style it.
The best way I find to wear the halo is to have it curly because it just blends so much nicer. So as you can tell I had already curled my hair and the halo had been curled but it has dropped a little bit and also these curls don?t really match up that well so I?m just going to go over the top with my wand and I?m going to blend all these curls together. So I?m gonna grab my hair as well as the extension and wrap it around the wand.
Now once all of that is curled, I am then going to brush it out and as you can see that wave just goes and blends so much nicer now. Brush it all around the back and then I just assess and see if there?s any of my hair that needs more blending.
If I have any other hair that is kind of hanging out down the bottom, what I tend to do is I just get a little bobby pin and I grab that piece of hair and I just pin it back up underneath just to hide it underneath there. I also tend to tease a little bit of my hair just around this section because that will just give it a little bit more volume and a little bit more help to blend and just to make it just a little bit more of that really beautiful nice wave.
There you have it, that is how easy it is to apply the halo extensions and going from short hair to voluminous, long Victoria Secret long hair like this.
So I hope this has helped you guys and please like and subscribe to the Sitting Pretty YouTube channel for more tutorials because I?m going to be bringing you a few more on different styles. So thank you guys so much for watching and I?ll see you soon, bye!
