Styles of the past definitely inspire the looks that we have today. It?s fun to look back and see that we?re very similar with past generations. We all had families, friends and loved ones. We were working to make our lives comfortable and how we looked was important.

I hope you all enjoy some of the looks that I?ve put on my list. Some of them I wish were back in style. Maybe sometime in the future they will be!

7. Dread Locks

A Classic look from the 70?s. A lot of hairstyles were brought into popularity by singers, actors and actresses. This look is no exception. When Reggae music gained mainstream popularity in the 70?s, Bob Marley?s influence on music and culture and fashion brought about the dreadlocks.

6. The Shag

Another hairstyle brought into popularity by actors and actresses. This was seen in the early 1970?s worn by Jane Fonda, Mick Jagger and Florence Henderson. I personally think this style is making a come back.

5. The Wedge

This hairstyle was first seen on 1976 Winter Olympics winner Dorthy Hamill. It?s not hard to know why it became a top hairstyle of the times.

4. The Mullet/Longer/facial hair

During the later 1960?s it was very frowned upon for men to have longer hair. During the freeing 1970?s hairstyles for men became longer, sideburns, ponytails and Afros. Mullets were just another stylish way to wear their new longer locks. Beards and mustaches became very popular during this time as well. It was a time to let loose.

3. Men?s Perms

Our first view of the male perm was on no other than Mike Brady in the very popular T.V series the Brady Bunch. After that this look became very popular. I have to say it is definitely a look, I might just have my husband let me perm his hair.

2. Long and Straight

This is one of the most popular hairstyles to date. You can tell a good style with how long it lasts. This hairstyle is still very popular today. It?s not hard to tell why. Long smooth natural hair will always be in style no matter what age you are.

1.The Farrah Fawcett

Out of all the hairstyles I?ve mentioned in this post, this one is without a doubt the most popular style of it?s time. There was even a hairspray named after this beautiful style. I would love to see this style make a come back! I might have to be the starter of it.
