With the freelance economy on the rise, coworking spaces have been sprouting up in different cities around the globe. Swayed by the flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and sense of community that these spaces provide, freelancers and businesses have started to opt out of traditional office leases. According to JLL?s Global Market Perspective report, coworking spaces have grown by more than 200% over the past five years.
By 2022, the number of coworking members is predicted to rise to 5.1 million.
In addition, coworking spaces are known to cultivate environments that are favorable to productivity and innovation. The growing presence of Silicon Beach has also turned Los Angeles into a tech hub, becoming a hotbed for digital nomads and up-and-coming startups in the past few years. That being said, I?ve created a list of 37 coworking spaces in Los Angeles, breaking them down into different categories, ranging from large international corporate chains to smaller ones that are niche-oriented.
International
1. WeWorkThe granddaddy of them all ? WeWork offers coworking spaces and a variety of different resources to help both individuals and companies grow. Initially founded in NYC in 2010, WeWork has grown exponentially with over 400 office locations in more than 80 cities worldwide. 2. SpacesOriginating from Amsterdam, Spaces provides an international network of coworking spaces with a unique entrepreneurial spirit. NeueHouseWith locations in Manhattan and Hollywood, this upscale coworking space provides its community with perks such as their cultural programming, which gives members inside access to the biggest names in art, fashion, music, politics and a range of other industries. Offering a full restaurant and bar, members can also enjoy the convenience of having their meals freshly prepared for them.

Each pod consists of either a twin or queen-sized bed and a 22inch flat screen TV equipped with Netflix and Hulu. I used to work right down the street from this coffee shop and absolutely love the natural lighting and overall ambiance. They also have the friendliest baristas in town ? s/o to Donny and Jack! 🙂

35. Paragon SpacesParagon Spaces was conceived out of the consistent lack of coworking spaces available to people working in the cannabis industry. Despite the legalization of recreational marijuana, use of the substance is still very much in a grey area, which prevents many startups from being able to rent out a place to work. Created by Paragon, a blockchain technology company focused on bringing transparency to the cannabis industry, this coworking space is currently taking applications and will only be accepting payments through their own cryptocurrency.
36. Thymele ArtsA performing arts incubator in East Hollywood, Thymele Arts caters towards artists who are looking to come together and create new work. They have multiple rehearsal rooms and a dance studio, in addition to their shared workspaces and offices.
37. Biz BabezI was lucky to get the chance to visit Biz Babez a few weeks ago! One of the co-founders, Dani, who runs her own sustainable clothing line Dazey LA, started Biz Babez with her friend Taryn, a fellow entrepreneur who also has her own vegan-themed clothing brand Vegetaryn. As small business owners, both women missed having coworkers and the social interactions that came along with it, which is how the idea of Biz Babez came about. Located in the heart of DTLA, the coworking space caters to young, female creative entrepreneurs and focuses on fostering a tight-knit community of women working to inspire, support, and collaborate with one another.
