The 7 Free Best Binaural Beats

Searching for the best binaural beats? Then look no further. While there are various places you can go online to buy binaural beats audio clips, ranging from a few minutes to a few hours, there are also some places on the internet you can go to listen to binaural beats for free. Many of which, in my opinion, are just as good as the paid versions you can download and listen to.

For me, most of the time, I listen to binaural beats to aid with my work and productivity (like writing this post). But, occasionally, I?ll switch out to music as I find listening to binaural beats for too long can become a bit numbing. While the length of listening will be different for everyone, so to will the type of binaural beats you?ll chose to listen to. If you?re already familiar with binaural beats, you?ll know that there are several types ? all of which serve a different purpose.

Overtime, after having listened to many different types of binaural beats from various sources online, I?ve made a collection of what I think are the best binaural beats for brainwave entrainment. The collection is a mix of different wave types suited to a particular purpose. What you?ll find below, are the best binaural beats for each of the 7 main purposes binaural beats are effective for.

The list below is what I go back to time and time again depending on what it is I?m trying to achieve. I?ve got a collection of the best binaural beats to help me with focus and concentration. In addition to a compilation of the best binaural beats for other things like; meditation, relaxation, sleep, lucid dreaming, and astral projection. Of course, there are other uses for listening to binaural beats, such as for healing, to increase confidence, or to reflect, but I think that you?ll find that one or more of the binaural beats listed here will help with whatever else it might be you want to listen to binaural beats for.

In this post I?ve listed, in my opinion, 7 of the best binaural beats you can listen to for free. So here they are:

#1

Wave Type: GammaFrequency: 40?70Hz Purpose: Focus, ConcentrationLength: 10:27

Why are Gamma waves good for focus and concentration? One of the main reasons is due to the frequency at which they oscillate. Gamma waves oscillate within the range of 30?100Hz. Think of Gamma waves as the brainwave that links information processing within your brain. Researchers have documented that having a high amount of Gamma brainwave activity is associated with high levels of intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, and overall happiness and well-being. For a pure Gamma binaural beats session at 40Hz have a listen to this clip.

#2

Wave Type: BetaFrequency: 12?27HzPurpose: Awareness, Alertness, EnergyLength: 7:18

Beta waves are documented to be within the range of 12?27Hz (or 12 to 27 cycles per second). The benefits of Beta wave binaural beats are similar to those of Gamma waves. Listening to Beta waves helps to increase focus on the task at hand in addition to overall I.Q, productivity, critical thinking, decision making, situational awareness, and memory. Moreover, Beta waves also help with increasing your energy, sharpening your hearing, and improving your overall happiness and well-being.

#3

Wave Type: AlphaFrequency: 8?12HzPurpose: Relaxed and Awake Length: 2:59:57

The frequencies of these Alpha waves oscillate at between 7.5?14Hz. A very effective frequency for helping to induce a relaxed state of mind. Personally, I find listening to Alpha waves for at least 20 minutes helps to slow my mind down and reduce stress. Especially after a day of being in high-stress situations and environments. These Alpha waves are also effective at clearing the mind.

So, if you feel as if you have big decisions to make, put your headphones on and sit back on these Alpha waves. You might find that after a listening session of Alpha waves, you?ll be in a better state of mind. Lastly, I like the tones produced in this clip as they are 100% pure tones which mean the frequencies don?t mix with other sounds or music which can dilute the effectiveness. Plus, I like how Lautwaves have kept the beat and base rates, and volume the same all the way through.

#4

Wave Type: ThetaFrequency: 3?8Hz Purpose: Deep RelaxationLength: 2:00:08

The Theta waves in this binaural beats session oscillate between 4?7.5Hz. For centuries Theta brainwaves have been used for meditation and to help put people into a ?trance? like state. While Theta waves help to induce ?prolonged daydreaming? and a ?lost sense of time,? the listener should also be kept in an awake state conscious of their immediate surroundings.

I prefer to listen to Theta waves during mindfulness, meditation, and deep visualization sessions. This is mainly because as with Alpha, in a Theta state, our brain hemispheres synchronize enabling whole brain functioning as opposed to partial brain functioning. In many cases, I?ll listen to these Theta waves to help induce deep relaxation, heighten my intuition, evoke inspiration, reduce the ?noise? in the mind and, mental fatigue. Plus, it helps me to get better restful sleep.

#5

Wave Type: DeltaFrequency: 0?3HzPurpose: Deep SleepLength: 7:59:29

Delta waves represent the slowest band of waves and occur when we are in deep dreamless sleep. When we are in this state, our body has the best chance of restoring and healing itself. During this state, it also helps to support secretion of Human Growth Hormones (HGH) which in itself has many health benefits. I prefer to listen to Delta wave binaural beats when I want to put myself into deep, uninterrupted relaxation.

With my physical training and leading an active lifestyle, getting into Delta state with Delta waves humming though my ears from time-to-time helps me to hit the reset button when I need it. Aside from my personal benefits of listening to Delta waves, others have reported benefiting from advanced healing of body and mind, improved immune system, increased HGH release, a state of empathy, deep sense of intuition, and even a connection to the unconscious mind.

#6

Wave Type: Alpha & ThetaFrequency: 3?13HzPurpose: Lucid DreamingLength: 8:00:17

Listening to these types of tones and frequencies can feel a bit like you?re travelling into outer space and across universes. But, give it a chance and it might just put you into a lucid dreaming state. Aside from the experience itself, which isn?t easy, lucid dreaming binaural beats does have it?s benefits. For instance, listening can help with your creative subconsciousness, enhance dream recall, and induce deep sleep. The type of deep sleep that triggers and REM state. Try listening before going to sleep at night and see if you can?t find yourself in control of your dreams.

#7

Wave Type: DeltaFrequency 3?27HzPurpose: Astral ProjectionLength: 1:00:08

Astral projection, which is also an interpretation of Out of Body Experience (OBE), assumes the existence of an ?astral body? separate from the physical body. Think of it as ?seeing yourself outside of yourself?. A bit like a ghost of you watching over the real you. If you?ve never had the experience of astral travel then, from my own experience, you?ll find it strange and surreal the first time, but not frightening. If you want to find out more about my astral projection experience, you can read about it here.

Listening to Binaural Beats

Getting into a regular habit of listing to binaural beats has, without a doubt, its benefits. It, therefore, makes sense to get the most out of each time you listen. To do this, I recommend having binaural beats play in a room with no other disruptive sounds or distractions. Otherwise, listen with a decent pair of headphones on. The more it is just you and the binaural beats, the better.

How Long Should I listen To Binaural Beats?

It depends on a few things. If you look around, you?ll find various schools of thought of what you ?should? and what you ?shouldn?t? do. Ultimately, however, it comes down to what suits you best. As a guide, from my personal experience, if you?re just starting out (i.e. a beginner), I?d recommend around 7?20 minutes per listening session one day a week. If you?re new to listening to binaural beats, the first few listens will be weird and perhaps even make you feel a bit strange.

So, if you?re in the beginner category, take it slow and give yourself some time to adjust before extending out beyond the 20-minute mark. Are you already familiar with binaural beats and listen occasionally? Then you will likely fall into the ?intermediate? category. Listening to binaural beats a couple of times a day for 20?60 minutes puts you in the intermediate-level. Any listening sessions longer than 60 minutes multiple times a day puts you in the ?expert? category. At this stage, you know which binaural beats work best for you and, listen regularly.

What Binaural Beats Are Best For Me?

It depends on what you?re trying to achieve. If you need to be in a state of focus and concentration, then Gamma waves are best. Need to heighten your sense of clarity and awareness? Then, listening to Beta waves will help with the process. To put yourself into a state of mental and physical relaxation, Alpha waves are a good option. For deep meditation, light sleep, and dreaming listen to Theta waves. And, for deep sleep, lucid dreaming, and astral projection listen to Delta waves.
