This year, Teacher Appreciation Week feels extra special.

Teachers around the world are facing unprecedented challenges trying to transition from in-person teaching to a new online classrooms. At Code.org, we already knew that teachers have one of the most important jobs in the world, but now they have one of the most difficult, too.

We want to say ?thank you? from the bottom of our hearts to every teacher, in every school, who is continuing to educate students during these challenging times. In the computer science world, our work would not be possible without your dedication, hard work, passion, and humor, and we are proud to be part of this amazing computer science community. Thanks for all you do!

We?re always looking ways to support our computer science teachers, especially now. See our At Home page for teaching computer science at home or remotely, or our COVID-19 Response Resources for even more ideas and help.

Educators and administrators can also let us know what else we can do to help by filling out this quick survey.

Lastly, if you?re a teacher who has gotten creative to teach students, we want to hear from you! We?d also love to hear from parents and/or students who have stories or want to say thanks to a teacher who has been particularly impactful during this time.

Please tell us your story at [email protected], and we may feature it on our blog, social media, or elsewhere on Code.org or across our channels.

Below are just a few fun posts we?ve seen on social media showing how teachers are getting creative ? and still maintaining a sense of humor! ? to teach their students.

?#MayTheFourthBeWithYou!

?One way to incentivize students to keep up with their CS coursework? Send milkshakes!

?We love the idea of virtual office hours

?No computer at home or solid internet connection? No problem! Some teachers are encouraging students to try unplugged activities

?Teachers are rising to the challenge to bring curricula online for their students. We love this!

?Successful distance learning in action

? Sweet emails from students make it all worth it

?A virtual ?Women in STEM? night is an awesome idea!

?Social distancing can?t stop this CS Discoveries workshop from happening

?We love this example from a teacher of how computer science can help teach other subjects

We miss in-person workshops too, but luckily our awesome Regional Partners are finding ways to bring them online!
