Neuro4Kidz | Neuroscience vs Neurobiology vs Neurology

Neurology is the study of the brain?s processes, and it is the oldest form. Also, neurology is a science of medicine. This means it is not studied in schools, like neuroscience. Lastly, neurology is the only centered around figuring out what is going wrong and what to do about it, so it is mostly used in a clinical environment.

Second, neurobiology is the study of how the brain works biologically, and it is studied across multiple animal?s species. It is used to figure out what is in the brain and about the cellular pathways and such.

Lastly, neuroscience is the most recent of these three, and it is studied in college and schools. This field of neuroscience goes most in-depth. This is the field which cognitive science is a part of. It goes beyond neurobiology and focuses on how the neurons work, and how trillions of neurons make up the brain. It also talks about how attention, language use, memory, perception, problem solving, creativity, and thinking all relate to different parts of the brain. Memory is, as you know, related to the hippocampus.
