Over a year ago I found Michael Wray and had the opportunity to sit down with him in my apartment and interview this famed chef. For many years Wray had been going through a really rough time after the death of his first daughter Trixie GoGo Wray. He had battled drug addiction due to a back surgery where he had Harrington rods implanted in his back to straighten his spine. Due to this, he had always had extreme back pain. borderline addicted. While on Hells Kitchen he was dealing with this. He had his doctors come on set and deliver him his medication. After his win on Hell’s Kitchen, he battled with addiction after the death of his daughter and ended up giving in to addiction and became homeless under the Burbank underpass in Los Angeles. Wray lived like this for a few years before getting his life back on track. At rock bottom, he decided to change his life around.

Chef Michael Wray is the Consulting head chef at the Currant American Brasserie in San Diego. He has created an incredible menu and works with an amazing team. His life has entered an era of peace and stability. Both financially and with his relationships. Chef Michael Wray has married his soulmate, Sharlene Wray in October 2018.
