A list of all the high school summer journalism programs I could find

Students and parents frequently ask me to recommend summer journalism programs, so I?ve compiled this list. I am indebted to Kristin Taylor of the Archer School for her help with this list; many of the entries come from a list compiled by her.

To be included on this list, programs must:

  • be residential overnight programs
  • last four days or more
  • have a working website with dates, cost, and application information

Costs were calculated for Louisville-area students (some programs offer different prices for in-state versus out-of-state); late fees or early-bird discounts were omitted. Students and parents using this list to research options are encouraged to peruse the summer programs? websites on their own and not rely solely upon this list for information and planning.

Some programs offer scholarships ? make sure you read their websites closely for scholarship opportunities!

The list is in alphabetical order by state. If you have corrections or updates, please email them to me instead of posting them as comments. The list was last updated on October 26, 2016.
