GM launches SS version of the 2020 Chevy Blazer

Chevy Blazer is coming back. But, that is not all we can expect from this nameplate. The company is going to surprise all its fans with the special edition of the SUV. The 2020 Chevy Blazer SS will be a beast with 500 horsepower! Another possibility is an off-road edition with ZR2 badge.

From what we could find, it seems like the GM is after performance-oriented SUV. Cadillac ATS-V will help with its V6 unit capable to produce 464 horsepower. But, that is not going to be enough for the 2020 Blazer SS. Fans will get more, probably over 500 ponies. Well, the SUV is not going to challenge Jeep Grand Cherokee and its Trackhawk with 707 hp.

Blazer really needs something to make it different from the competition. You won?t find too many SS badges nowadays, although we had El Camino, Impala, or even Silverado truck. Currently, only Camaro muscle car gets upgrades from Super Sport segment. Could 2020 Chevy Blazer be the next one? According to the latest news on 2019suvs ? YES!

The base models are going to use four-cylinder and V6 engine. The first one can produce 193 hp. The other one is more capable and delivers 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. But, a 3.6-liter unit is a great option for upgrades. Turbochargers and superchargers will help Blazer squeeze over 500 ponies out of it.

If you are afraid of such power, we found more about RS version. Still more power than the base setup, but nothing extreme SS models are carrying. Also, the SUV could also get a hybrid drivetrain.
