Solutions to fix FFXIV error 2002:-

Here are many quick and easy solutions to fix this error. Follow the below-given steps carefully:

1) Allow FFXIV via PC and Router Firewalls:-

You should know that allowing FFXIV through your regular Firewall could not be enough because most routers have their own Firewall whose security can be altered easily. It is especially for Console players who trouble with the FFXIV error 2002.

If you installed the third-party Firewall then visit the manufacturer?s website to search about how to allow an app through it. Go through the below-given steps to allow it:

Tap on the Start button and navigate to the Control Panel.

Once the control panel opens, change the view to Large or Small icons and scroll down to select the Windows Defender Firewall option.

Now, tap on Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall option which is at the left side of options.

After that, a list of the installed app will be open.

Now, search for where you installed FFXIV and select its main executable.

Tap on the OK option and restart your system before trying the updating process to check if the error still persists.

If you still face this error by applying the above method over your PC or Console, so follow the below-given to disable the Firewall in your router to check if the game can connect easily.

At first, open a web browser and type your Default Gateway number (IP address) into the address bar and hit the Enter button.

To search out your ?Default Gateway number?, go to the Start menu and type cmd to open ?Command Prompt?.

Now, right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

Type ipconfig /all in the command prompt that will show below and scroll down towards the ?network adapter? which coincides with the type of connection that you are using currently to connect with the internet and note down the Default Gateway entry.

Now, type your username and password to access your router?s interface. The default username and password must be listed in your router?s documentation. It will be on the sticker of your router on the side, or on the port forward website.

At first, go the menu and locate the Firewall option. It may also possible that this option is hidden under the ?connection? tab. One way also, open the Firewall Settings and tries to set it to off or to Minimal Security.

Now, tap on Save option to save the changes.

Restart your PC or Console to take the effect and try to play a game via FFXIV to see if FFXIV error 2002 has been resolved now.

2) Add your Console with DMZ:-

At first, launch a web browser and enter your Default Gateway number into the address bar and hit the Enter button.

Now, locate the DMZ option in the Settings section of your router. It may be possible that its location is different for various routers but it will mostly lie under the Security tab or something similar.

Select the DMZ option and type the static IP address that you assign to your Console. If everything is going fine then your Console should have the right to connect.

Once, you confirm these changes, ensure that you turn off your router as well as your console.

Now, wait for a moment.

Turn on the Console and open FFXIV to check if the error 2002 has been fixed successfully.
