The Constitution? Fuhgeddaboudit

Obey Messiah"Right now, in distant training camps, there are people plotting to take American lives.  That will be the case a year from now, five years from now, and in all probability ten years from now."  Obama predicting the future!  Oh, yes (watch YouTube video below, posted 5/21/09).  According to the Obama White House, Al Qaeda will continue to plan to kill us, and therefore we should put [Arab] [terrorists] away before they can can try anything.  This is called "indefinite detention" ... perhaps it will apply to other kinds of people too?  Conspiracy theorists -- for striking terror in the masses?

We thought Bush was bad (and Obama did too -- hear him bash Dubya for his "ad hoc" terrorist strategies), but according to MSNBC commentator Rached Maddow, the new prez is doing the same thing -- ad hocking all he wants.  Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Talking about the Bush admin: "Our government made decisions based on fear rather than foresight ... an ad-hoc legal approach for fighting terrorism that was neither effective nor sustainable."  Talking about his own plans:  "Al Qaeda terrorists and their affiliates are at war with the United States and those that we capture, like other prisoners of war, must be prevented from attacking us again." ... So the Obama Admin will create an "appropriate legal regime" that conforms with "our values" and "our Constitution" to keep in custody those who might in the future conduct themselves in terroristic ways so that they do not act on their possible terroristic ideas ... in the future.

Remember that when the State creates a standard or platform that applies to some, they can easily stretch that standard to apply to others.
